Greetings band members from the Housing Department.

This past March, we have completed our nine Phase ten units. All tenants are now in their homes. For this fiscal year however, we regret to inform you that we will not be doing any new construction. We would like to attend to repairs that require immediate attention.

During this fiscal year we would also like to hold more informational home maintenance workshops for all and any band members that are interested in attending. Please note that attendance and participation in these workshops will help assist your application for housing, if you are presently on the waiting list. By holding these workshops we would like to promote homeownership pride.

We also have the Prairie Lodge Urban Housing Inc. Home Ownership Program also known as the Centenary Affordable Housing Program. Please feel free to phone and inquire on the qualifications required to be eligible for this program.

On a final note, we are currently in the process of ratifying the Pasqua First Nation Housing & Infrastructure Policy (in draft form). The importance of the policy is to promote tenant and department relations and to also achieve and provide more, adequate, and cost efficient housing programs other than only band or section 95 homes. We would like to encourage on reserve affordable homeownership for all band members to enjoy. Without support of the community on and off band members we will be unable to provide this for you. Input from all band members will be greatly appreciated. We would like to enforce a policy that well suites and serves the needs of all fellow band members.
